Gulf Coast Ladybird Sauce among winners in 2011 Gourmet Product Awards
The Gourmet Product Awards has announced the 2011 winners of its first annual awards program. Dozens of food judges, VIP, celebrity chefs, professional consultants and specialty retail store owners revealed their top picks for the best new gourmet products for 2011. Forty Three winners were chosen from multiple categories ranging from Baby Products, Baked Goods, Beverages, Cheese, Cookies and Snacks, Dairy to Oils, Dressings, Organic and more that included many acclaimed new products. The awards revealed the growing interest in healthy ingredients, green packaging, organic and raw products, supporting charitable causes and more.
Cilantro and Lime Tarter Sauce
Use with fried seafood.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 Gherkin’s or small Pickle
- 2 tbs Key Lime juice
- 6 leaves of chopped Cilantro
- 2 tbs of chopped Capers
Instructions
Make sure all above ingredients are FINELY chopped. Mix the above ingredients in a mixing bowl and fold ingredients together and add salt & pepper to taste. Refrigerate until time of service to remain fresh.
Arrowroot
Arrowroot makes a great thickener for sauces, gravies and puddings. Use it in place of Wheat Flour or Cornstarch. It cooks up clear, with a smooth texture and virtually no taste. Arrowroot can also be used as a flour in some baking recipes. To use, mix with cold water before adding to sauces and gravies to prevent lumps.
If used as a flour, add to recipes as called for and adjust amount as needed.
- Two tsp of Arrowroot can be substituted for 1 Tbsp of cornstarch.
- One tsp of Arrowroot can be substituted for 1 Tbsp of flour.
Honey Ginger Seafood Dipping Sauce
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sliced green onions
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Instructions
Mix and enjoy.
